Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes will see out the final year of his contract at the club according to the Spanish champions’ president Sandro Rosell.
The Spanish international was rumoured to leave the Catalan giants with only a year left on his contract, but after receiving assurances from Valdes’ team he will stay, Rosell has officially announced the ‘keeper will continue his career as a one-club man.
"Victor Valdes's representative has officially told (sports director Andoni) Zubizarreta that the player will complete his contract," Rosell told a news conference.
"We are delighted he will be with us next year."
However, Rosell has not ruled out a move for a Valdes replacement, confirming the club will bring in a couple more players across the summer.
"I believe we will sign one or two more players," he said. "That also depends on whether players leave."
