Olsen crestfallen after Armenia loss

Denmark coach Morten Olsen said his side's 4-0 home defeat to Armenia may represent the low point of his career and suggested it had ended the team's prospects of reaching the 2014 World Cup.

Denmark found themselves behind inside 24 seconds in Copenhagen and could offer no response to Armenia, and Olsen, who has been in charge of the national side since 2000, was disconsolate.

"I have no great analysis to offer," he said. "The only thing I will say is that it is 100% my responsibility. There's no doubt about that. This is incomprehensible. It is arguably very close to being the worst night of my career."

Denmark now find themselves four points behind second-placed Bulgaria in Group B, and three points behind third-placed Czech Republic, and Olsen is holding out little hope his squad will book their place in Brazil.

"After this I do not think we are fighting to be at a World Cup," he said. "There was great optimism before the game and we had opportunities but, after this match, I can't really see it. Realistically, it will be difficult."
