Turkish fans unite for protests

The spectacular scenes of anti-government protests in Turkey continued as fans from three of the country's biggest clubs united in calls for Prime Minister Recep Tayylp Erdogan to resign.

Supporters of Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas marched shoulder to shoulder in Taksim Square as clashes continued across Turkey.

In a widespread movement that has already provided a number of unbelievable moments, fans from the three clubs put their club allegiances aside and chanted as one.

Chants of "resign, Erdogan, resign" and "we are united together against fascism" were reportedly bellowed out from the Square.

According to Sky, fans held up rival colours and even swapped scarves, with one Fenerbahce fan saying: "Normally we are enemies, but now we are brothers."

Another man told Sky: "This is about more than football, it's about our country, and we are against Erdogan."

It is believed Mr Erdogan is currently in discussions to end the protests.
