Hazard hails Chelsea youngsters

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has urged newly-appointed manager Jose Mourinho to embrace the youthful talent that he is inheriting at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues sent a number of highly-rated youngsters out on loan last season as their first-team berths were reserved for established star names.

However, Hazard is convinced that the club have a group of younger players in its ranks who are capable of making a difference in the Premier League next season.

"We have some very good young players in Nathan Ake, (Josh) McEachran and (Romelu) Lukaku, and I hope they can be involved with the other ones who are young but now also have experience, people like Oscar and Juan Mata, who have learned from the older players like John Terry, Frank Lampard and Petr Cech," Hazard is quoted as saying in The Sun.

The Belgium international went on to speak of his satisfaction with his first season at Chelsea, following his £35 million move from Lille last summer, and feels he acclimatised well to life at a top Premier League club.

"My debut season was very good for me, playing alongside big players like Lampard and Ashley Cole," he said. "I settled in quickly with the team during the last pre-season and really enjoyed the trip to America with people like Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne around. They were good for me, the other Belgians.

"After that they went on loan, but I was feeling at home by then and when Demba Ba came in January I was there to help him. He speaks French like me and we are now good friends.

"I played a lot of games. I missed three because of my red card in January and then missed the Europa League final with injury, but apart from that I was always involved. I am happy with my contribution and felt I played well in the season, so it was a good year."
