Everton dismiss Fellaini, Baines talk

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright is hopeful Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines will remain at the club, despite the overtures of Arsenal and Manchester United respectively.

• What does Martinez need?

Fellaini has a £24 million release clause in his contract, and Arsenal have reportedly put forward an offer. The Belgium international has often stated his desire to play Champions League football, but Kenwright insists he is happy to stay at Goodison Park for now.

Kenwright said in The Times: "I have to say he has given me every indication he doesn't want to go."

Meanwhile there is speculation that Baines, whose contract has two years to run, could link up with former Toffees boss David Moyes at United.

But asked whether the England full-back will be offered a new deal, Kenwright said: "Absolutely right. That's started - started in that he knows we want him to stay.

In The Guardian, he added: "Leighton is under contract and I've told David not to come back for him, although there is nothing to stop him. Most of our players, if not all of them, are under good, long contracts at the moment Leighton about a new contract but that will start. He knows we want him to stay."
