Millwall and West Ham cleared by FA

The FA has said it will be taking no action against West Ham or Millwall after investigating discriminatory behaviour by their fans during two matches last season.

English football's governing body investigated West Ham after anti-Semitic chants were heard from away fans during a Premier League match against Tottenham at White Hart Lane in November.

Championship Millwall were investigated after racist abuse during a match against Leeds at The Den was caught on film by a Sky Sports News Special Report camera crew.

Police arrested several West Ham fans after the match at White Hart Lane, while two Millwall reporters identified from the footage were banned by the club.

The FA said it was satisfied with the efforts being made by both clubs to deal with abusive behaviour. It noted that West Ham's return game against Tottenham at Upton Park later in the season had passed off without incident.

It also praised Millwall for "the work the club continues to do in partnership with its local community to educate supporters and help tackle discriminatory language and behaviour".

An FA statement added: "The FA can confirm it has now concluded two separate investigations into allegations of discriminatory abuse from last season.

"The FA acknowledges the work West Ham United undertook in the immediate aftermath of the match and the ongoing work the club, led by its owners, undertakes to prevent all forms of discrimination and misconduct."
