Cesc 'to seek assurances from Vilanova'

Cesc Fabregas is to seek assurances from Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova over his future at the club this week before deciding whether to push for a return to the Premier League, according to reports.

Fabregas is expected to hold talks over is future

The Daily Mail and El Mundo Deportivo claim that Fabregas, 26, is keen to stay at Barca but is concerned over the amount of first-team football he has played for the club.

ESPN FC understands Manchester United have held talks over a move for the player, while Arsenal have first refusal on the midfielder they sold to the Spanish league winners nearly two years ago.

If Vilanova is unable to give him assurances over first-team football next season, Fabregas may open the door for a return to the Premier League. Arsenal will be hopeful of securing his services - the player still follows the club's results passionately - but United's greater history of trophy success may prove even more persuasive.

Manchester City and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest and could enter the bidding, should Fabregas declare his intention to depart.
