Cesar intends to stay in England

Julio Cesar says he would like to remain in the Premier League if he leaves Queens Park Rangers this summer.

QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar could be set for a spell on the sidelines
Julio Cesar has made 67 appearances for Brazil since 2003

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, the Brazilian goalkeeper has also spoken of a desire to remain in London, encouraging reported suitors Arsenal to continue their interest in him.

Cesar was one of the few impressive performers in a poor Rangers side which was relegated from the top-flight last season.

And he claims clubs have already made contact about signing him, with manager Harry Redknapp willing to let him move on.

"There is some interest from other clubs but nothing is concrete,” he said. “Harry Redknapp left the door open for me. I have three more years on my contract with QPR, Harry knows this, and he talked about me with the press.

"He said: 'Cesar can't play in the Championship, he has to play in the Premier League or Serie A'. I was really happy with the words that he used about me with the press.

"I would like to stay in English football because I enjoy London a lot, it's a great city to live in, I love the Premier League.

"But I would like to just think about the Confederations Cup. It's a good moment to do a good job for the national team. I would like to be focused on that."
