The agent of Martin Skrtel has quashed rumours linking the defender with a move to play under former manager Rafael Benitez at Napoli.
Skrtel, 28, endured a frustrating campaign, starting just four Premier League games in 2013 as he lost his place in the Liverpool side to Jamie Carragher.
Napoli's appointment of Benitez as their new coach this week has led to speculation that the Slovakia international could be in line to reunite with the man who first brought him to Anfield.
However, Skrtel’s agent, Karol Csonto, has ruled out the possibility of a move for his client to the Stadio San Paolo, insisting that the player will see out his contract with the Reds.
"It's not possible; I consider it a very difficult deal," he told calciomercato.it.
"I like Napoli and I have great respect for this club, but Martin still has a three-year contract with Liverpool and the most likely outcome is that he remains there."
Speaking of Benitez, he said: "They spent three years together, establishing a good relationship with him, but I repeat now that this suggestion is impossible."
