Roma forward Pablo Osvaldo has been booted out of the Italy squad for the nation's upcoming World Cup qualifiers and Confederation Cup for insulting club manager Aurelio Andreazzoli.
Italy coach Cesare Prandelli decided to act after reports surfaced of Osvaldo shouting at Andreazzoli during Roma's 1-0 loss to Lazio in the Coppa Italia final.
The 27-year-old was given only the last 15 minutes of the game to make an impact as they trailed their arch-rivals. Osvaldo latter skipped the awards ceremony before again attacking Andreazzoli on Twitter.
But the Argentine-born Italian was soon rueing the cost of his actions with Prandelli sending him home - the 55-year-old's code of conduct entails that players who get into disciplinary problems with their clubs are excluded from the national team.
