Ba: Chelsea excited by Jose return

Chelsea goal-keeper Petr Cech says he hopes Jose Mourinho can replicate his success if the Portuguese manager returns to Stamford Bridge.

Demba Ba has told Sky Sports News that Chelsea's players are "happy" at the prospect of Jose Mourinho returning to the club.

The striker also believes the fact the Portuguese manager has already had a spell at Stamford Bridge could give Chelsea an advantage next season.

Speaking after his team's post-season friendly with Manchester City in St Louis, in which the London club squandered a three-goal lead to lose 4-3, Ba said: "You see what he has won, what he has brought to his teams and to his players individually, and of course he is one of the best.

"He knows everything about Chelsea having already managed the team for three or four years. He knows everybody here and he knows the club. "Everybody is thinking about it and everybody is happy. They know that he is a person that wants to win."

Mourinho, who left Real Madrid by mutual consent earlier in the week, has been widely tipped to succeed interim manager Rafael Benitez at Stamford Bridge.
