Cahill would 'relish' Mourinho return

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has said he would look forward to working under Jose Mourinho if the Portuguese coach makes his much anticipated return to Stamford Bridge.

• Blog: Chelsea wave bye to Rafa

Mourinho will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season and is widely expected to come back to the club where he won two Premier League titles among his trophy-laden three-year spell in west London, which ended in 2007.

Cahill echoed the comments made by team-mate Demba Ba earlier this month by saying that Mourinho was still well liked by the Chelsea players who have worked with him before, and that the prospect of playing for the former Porto and Inter Milan boss was an exciting one for him.

"I know that he is held in high esteem here, the lads speak highly of him, everyone speaks highly of him, so he must have something about him," he told Sky Sports News.

"Any player would relish working under somebody like that and look forward to it.

"If it is that, we don't know, but I'm sure every player would like to work under somebody like that."
