Reina happy at Anfield amid Barca links

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina insists he is happy at Liverpool, but stopped short of completely denying continuing reports suggesting he will join Barcelona.

Reina has hit out at his team-mate's ban
Pepe Reina joined Liverpool in 2005 and has made over 250 appearances for the club

Reina has strong links with Barca, where he began his career and where his father Miguel played in goal between 1966 and 1973, and has admitted to being “flattered” by speculation linking him with a return.

The new Spanish champions are looking to find a long-term replacement for Victor Valdes, who has told the club that he will not be renewing a contract that runs out in 2014.

Reina, who left Barca in 2002 to spend three years at Villarreal before moving to Liverpool, has been linked repeatedly with a return to the Nou Camp.

But the 30-year-old, whose Anfield contract runs until 2016, says there has been no concrete interest as far as he is aware.

He told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser: "I have three more years [contract] with Liverpool. I am satisfied, I like it there, and my family are delighted.

"Rumours are difficult to control, but you are flattered when a club like Barcelona is interested. I know the club perfectly, I grew up there. Everyone should realise that anyone would be excited about playing for a club like Barça.

"I do not know if there have been contacts between the clubs or with my agent. My representatives look after all this, and up until there is something very strong I do not get worked up about it.

"So at the moment I do not believe there has been anything serious."
