Bayern rewrite Bundesliga record books

Runaway champions Bayern Munich have set a host of new Bundesliga records this season.

As coach Jupp Heynckes brought down the curtain on his Munich career with a thrilling 4-3 win at Borussia Monchengladbach - his hometown club - his class of 2012-13 rewrote the history books in the Bundesliga's 50th year.

They collected the most points, 91, beating Dortmund's 2011-12 record by ten, and the most wins, 29. Their superlative away form saw them pick up 47 away points - ten more than the previous best - and rack up a nine-game winning streak on their travels.

Their 25-point cushion at the top was the biggest-ever margin, while their goal difference of plus 80 set another record.

They wrapped up the title after the lowest number of games, needing only 28 to seal the crown, while keeping the most clean sheets - a total of 21.

The eight-match winning streak with which they opened the season created another landmark. And as the campaign progressed, a 14-game winning run became the longest in Bundesliga history.

They also emulated their own previous achievement of leading the table from the season's first day to its conclusion and equalled another four German top-flight records:

•  Fewest defeats: one (equalling their own record from 1986-87).

•  A season without an away defeat (equalling their own record from 1986-87).

•  Six successive away games without conceding a goal (equaling Koln's record from 2009-10).

•  The fewest goals conceded during the first half of the season - seven (equaling Stuttgart's record from 2003-04).
