Juve: Tevez easier to get than Higuain

Juventus sporting director Beppe Marotta has suggested that it would be easier for his club to sign Carlos Tevez than Gonzalo Higuain this summer.

Carlos Tevez is thought to be the league's highest paid player on £198,000-a-week
Carlos Tevez has been linked with a number of clubs lately

Both Argentine forwards have been heavily linked with a move to the Serie A champions lately, with AS reporting on Monday that Real Madrid and Juventus representatives are to meet this week to discuss a potential part-exchange deal involving Higuain, 25, and the Bianconeri’s Swiss right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner.

Marotta spoke with Sky Italia after Juventus finished their season with a 3-2 defeat at Sampdoria, revealing that it may be easier to negotiate a transfer with Manchester City, given Tevez, 29, is entering the last 12 months of his current deal at the Etihad Stadium.

“Maybe it would be easier to sign Tevez,” the executive said. “He is older and has just one year of his contract left. But, in reality, we have done nothing with Real Madrid, nor with City."

AS claim that Madrid upping their previous interest in Lichtsteiner, who has also been linked with Arsenal, is a sign that Carlo Ancelotti will soon replace Jose Mourinho at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Higuain, who has been whistled by fans since missing a number of chances as Madrid exited the Champions League to Borussia Dortmund last month, is also rumoured to be of interest to Tottenham.

The European rumour mill also suggests ambitious Ligue 1 side Monaco have targeted Tevez to partner current Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao up front next term, although owner Dmitry Rybolovlev's transfer plans have been hit by a row with French authorities over taxes.
