Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has a realistic chance of playing in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich, according to the club's doctor.
Hummels suffered an ankle injury as he gave away a penalty 12 minutes from the end of Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Hoffenheim, and afterwards coach Jurgen Klopp had appeared pessimistic about the 24-year-old's prospects of playing at Wembley.
However, BVB doctor Marcus Braun said on Sunday that Hummels, whose ankle is only sprained, may well be available.
"It's absolutely realistic that he will recover in time for the Champions League final against FC Bayern Munich in London on Saturday," Braun said.
Earlier this season, Hummels had missed the DFB-Pokal quarter-final against Bayern Munich with a cold, as Dortmund went down to a 1-0 defeat.
