Beckham to skipper PSG

David Beckham has been named as Paris Saint-Germain captain for the club's final home game of the season.

• Beckham's au revoir

PSG entertain Brest on Saturday evening as the capital club celebrate their Ligue 1 title triumph.

It is not yet known if Beckham, who will hang up his boots at the end of the season, will also wear the armband against Lorient on May 26 - which will bring down the curtain on a glittering career.

"David Beckham will wear the captain's armband tonight during his last match at the Parc des Princes,'' a statement from the club read.

"A tribute will be paid to British midfielder who announced this week he would take his retirement at the end of this season.''

Beckham, who joined PSG in January on a short-term deal, has won league titles in four different countries - England, Spain, the United States and now France.
