France adds Samir Nasri for friendlies

France coach Didier Deschamps refuses to discuss Loic Remy's arrest and believes that Ribery must continue his fine form for the French national side

PARIS -- France coach Didier Deschamps recalled midfielders Yoann Gourcuff and Samir Nasri on Thursday for two friendly matches against Uruguay and Brazil next month.

Deschamps left out key players Patrice Evra and Franck Ribery to help them recover from a grueling season. Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala and Saint-Etienne midfielder Josuha Guilavogui were among the surprise selections as Deschamps uses the matches to test out younger players.

Striker Loic Remy was left out after he was reportedly arrested Wednesday on suspicion of rape.

France visits Uruguay on June 5 and Brazil on June 9 to prepare for its three World Cup qualifiers.
