Negredo catches the eye of Inter

Reported Tottenham target Alvaro Negredo looks to be on the radar of Inter Milan after the Nerazzurri's sporting director, Marco Branca, lavished praise on the Sevilla striker.

Negredo, 27, has long been linked with a move to White Hart Lane, with Spurs’ shortage of options up front having been well documented.

Both Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe have struggled at times this season, and Negredo is believed by many to be the ideal candidate to bolster Andre Villas-Boas’ attack.

However, Inter now also appear to be in the race for the striker following Branca’s decision to go public with his admiration for the player, although he does concede the club may not be able to find the required funds needed to complete a deal.

"He is a great player and one I know very well. But now is not the time to do crazy things,” he told Spanish paper Diario de Sevilla.

"It is one thing for us to be interested in a player and quite another for us to be able to afford his contract."
