Kolo Toure could miss final City game

Kolo Toure is waiting to discover if he has played his last game for Manchester City after limping off in the 2-0 win over Reading on Tuesday.

City sealed second place in the Premier League in their first match after manager Roberto Mancini's sacking but they lost the experienced defender after a quarter of an hour.

Toure is out of contract in the summer and has confirmed he will leave the Etihad Stadium and could miss City's last game of the season, at home to Norwich on Sunday.

"At the moment they don't think it's as bad as they first feared, so we'll get a better idea tomorrow [Wednesday]," caretaker manager Brian Kidd told City's official website.

However, Toure was only starting as captain Vincent Kompany is rested, so even if he is fit in time, there is no guarantee he will feature at the weekend.

Kidd praised his players for their performance after Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko scored in the win at the Madejski Stadium.

"When you look at the shift James Milner put in, I thought he was terrific," he said. "Joleon [Lescott], terrific. David [Silva], the quality, Sergio, Carlos [Tevez], but I think you can go through the squad."

Kidd, 63, played for both Manchester clubs and has been on the coaching staff at both Old Trafford and the Etihad Stadium and said he could not reject the opportunity to manage City for their final two games of the season.

""Being a Manchester lad, I wouldn't have been able to say no," he said. "I wouldn't have been able to walk down Market Street if I turned it down."
