Lahm: We'll be ready for Dortmund

Philipp Lahm has told Bild that Bayern Munich are fully focused on their Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund and are eager to play at full throttle.

• Blog: Danke Jungs, Danke Jupp!

Bayern face Bundesliga rivals Dortmund on May 25 at Wembley having already stormed their way to the league title, with a famous Treble in their sights as they face Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final a week later.

Their final league game of the season is against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday, and Lahm has said his team-mates will be in prime condition ahead of the Champions League showpiece.

"Week in, week out we soft-pedalled, entirely focused on our goals. Thus we're in dire need of letting it rip and pushing everything else aside," Lahm told Bild following a night of title celebrations at the weekend.

"We are young folks. Nobody has to worry we will not be able to rejuvenate and be in perfect shape for May 25. If our bodies cannot cope with one long night, something would be wrong.

"This is our goal, our dream - we should never lose focus. That would be careless. We don't need to talk about Dortmund. We don't need to sting them. We need to look at ouselves."

Despite losing two Champions League finals in the last three years - one of them the penalty shoot-out defeat to Chelsea in their home stadium last season - Bayern are confident of glory this time around, Lahm said.

"There is an option to bury your head in the sand, become desperate, to break under the weight of the defeat. That's not how we are made," the Germany international said.

"We are not an ostrich. We have chosen the second variant: Don't give up. We have proven how much we take on every fight. But we have not reached the end yet."
