Zlatan Ibrahimovic will respect contract

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Carlo Ancelotti was delighted after his side sealed the Ligue 1 title but refused to commit his future to the club.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has dismissed suggestions he could leave Paris Saint-Germain after helping the club win its first Ligue 1 title in 19 years.

A 1-0 win at Lyon Sunday night wrapped up what had seemed inevitable for several weeks now to start the party in the capital.

But Ibrahimovic, who first had to get through doping control before he could join the celebrations, then faced questions over his future.

"I'm very happy here," he told L'Equipe. "My start here in Paris has been perfect. I could not ask for more. Now I'll do my best to defend the title. I have a two-year contract. I am a professional and I respect the contracts."

Ibrahimovic has now won league titles in four different countries with five clubs. The French title is his eighth league championship -- and he also won two titles with Juventus that were later revoked because of the 2006 match-fixing scandal.

There is even stronger speculation about the future of Carlo Ancelotti, but Ibrahimovic hopes the Italian coach stays on.

"He did a fantastic job this year," he said. "This is a very good coach who teaches us a lot."

Ibrahimovic said Ancelotti, in particular, helped PSG overcome the death of performance manager Nick Broad, who was killed in a car accident in January.

"It was a very difficult time for the team, for everyone," he said. "It was tough mentally, he was very important to us. This victory is for him. To win after all we've been through, it's even harder."

Ancelotti declined to say if he will be in charge next season.

"I haven't talked [about the future], there is still time," Ancelotti said. "We're going to finish the season well and respect the league by giving it our all until the end."
