Wenger puts end to PSG talk

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has put an end to speculation that he could succeed Carlo Ancelotti as the manager of Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

• Wenger laments 'short-termism'

Ancelotti's side wrapped up the Ligue 1 title with a 1-0 win at Lyon on Sunday, but his future at the Parc des Princes remains unclear and he continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Wenger, 63, is held in high esteem by PSG's big-spending owners, but the Frenchman told beIN Sport that he would see out the final year of his contract with the Gunners.

"I've not had any contact with PSG. I won't leave Arsenal like a thief in the night," Wenger said. "I'll respect my contract through to 2014.

"I have a contract with Arsenal, where I've been for 17 years, and I don't see myself leaving the club and not respecting my contract."

But he said he had kept tabs on PSG's progress this season, adding: "They have built their success through a kind of individual superiority and a collective one which they discovered via the Champions League. It's been quite tough for them in Ligue 1."

French media reports last week said Wenger was due to meet PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi after the conclusion of the English Premier League season.
