Marseille make PSG wait

Marseille ensured Paris St Germain's title party would have to wait until Sunday at least with a 2-1 victory over Toulouse at the Stade Velodrome.

• Lille 3-0 Stade de Reims

Andre Ayew goals either side of the break was enough to see off tenth-placed Toulouse and guarantee Champions League football for the hosts next season.

Despite a late Eden Ben Basat goal, an eighth away defeat of the season for Alain Casanova's men all but guaranteed a mid-table finish.

At the other end of the table, Troyes continued their gutsy last-ditch bid for survival with a 1-0 win at Ajaccio.

Jean Marc Furlan's men climbed off the bottom of the standings last weekend by beating Evian and they are now just a point from safety thanks to Florian Jarjat's first-half strike in Corsica tonight.

Cheick Diabate struck a late winner as Bordeaux increased Nancy's relegation fears at the Stade Jacques Chaban-Delmas with a 3-2 victory.

Nancy had looked on course for a miraculous escape from the drop after picking up 17 points from a possible 24 recently, having previously won just twice in 25 league matches, but they lost 3-0 at home to Lyon last week and suffered more disappointment against Bordeaux.

Nancy appeared to have snatched a point when second-half goals from Loosemy Karaboue and Salif Sane cancelled out two Bordeaux goals in the final five minutes of the first half from Andre Biyogo Poko and Henri Saivet.

But there was a late twist in the tale as Diabate popped up four minutes from time to earn Bordeaux the victory.

Bastia guaranteed survival as Anthony Modeste scored two and set up the other to see off Montpellier 3-1.

Modeste scored twice to secure the win after John Utaka had cancelled out Claudio Beauvue's opener for the hosts.

Two goals from Sloan Privat moved Sochaux to the brink of safety, while condemning hosts Brest to a 2-0 defeat that leaves them on the brink of relegation to Ligue 2.

Privat's second-half double subjected Brest to an eighth successive defeat which means Landry Chauvin's team are six points from safety with just two games remaining.

Nine-man Rennes experienced second-half misery at Stade du Hainaut as they fell to a 4-1 defeat against mid-table rivals Valenciennes.

Things began well for the visitors when Jonathan Pitroipa fired them in front on the half-hour mark before Maor Melikson levelled the scores soon after, but the evening quickly went downhill after the interval as first Dimitri Foulquier and then John Boye were sent off within the space of six minutes.

With their obvious advantage, Valenciennes took control and goals from Lindsay Rose, Kenny Lala and Jose Saez wrapped up an emphatic win which moves the club above their opponents on goal difference.
