Pardew realistic about Toon future

Alan Pardew has said that he faces an uncertain future as Newcastle manager, whether the club avoid relegation from the Premier League or not.

After guiding Newcastle to a fifth-placed finish last season, Pardew's star has fallen dramatically and the club now find themselves in a scrap for survival with two games to play.

Pardew, 51, signed an eight-year contract in September last year but in an interview with BBC Newcastle he has acknowledged that the club's owner Mike Ashley may decide to part company at the end of the season.

"He can tell me where he's coming from and we can clear the air about how we want to take it forward," he said. "He could turn around and say, 'sorry Pards, see you later and thanks very much. He could do that if we don't make it, he could do that if we make it. Unfortunately for me I have to accept that decision."
