Benayoun suffers Twitter abuse

Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun has revealed he was the victim of anti-Semitic abuse on Twitter. The Israel international retweeted a message, containing expletives and referring to him being Jewish, after he had thanked his followers for their birthday wishes.

Last month, Chelsea launched an investigation into reports that supporters targeted Benayoun with anti-Semitic chants. Benayoun, 33, was taunted by his own club's fans when he came off the bench in a 2-2 draw with Liverpool. Information from the Press Association was used in this report.
