Weather forces French Cup semi postponement
The Coupe de France semi-final between Troyes and Bordeaux has been postponed at the 11th-hour due to the hazardous weather conditions in the Champagne region.
The Bordeaux squad were at their local airport in Merignac when they were informed the game, scheduled for Tuesday evening in Troyes, had been pushed back to an as yet unspecified later date.
Three departements in the Champagne region, including the Aube in which Troyes is located, as well as one in Burgundy have been placed on high alert due to the torrential rain which has swept the area in the last 24 hours and caused severe flooding.
Upon hearing the news, the Bordeaux players returned to their training centre for an improvised training session.
