Gignac fires OM to victory
Two goals by Andre-Pierre Gignac earned Marseille a 2-1 win against Bastia to consolidate second place in Ligue 1 behind leaders Paris St Germain.
Gignac gave Marseille the lead in the first half, but Florian Thauvin equalised within a minute of the start of the second. With nine minutes to go, though, Gignac earned his side victory to keep up the pressure on leaders PSG, defeat leaving Bastia in mid-table.
Lille's bid for a top-four finish suffered a blow as they suffered a 4-2 defeat at Toulouse.
Lille had not lost to Toulouse in their last ten league encounters but that run came to an end at the Municipal Stadium as they slipped two points behind fourth-placed St Etienne.
Ben Yedder and Etienne Didot put improving Toulouse 2-0 up in the first half but Lille hit back to draw level just after half-time through goals from Marko Basa and Salomon Kalou.
The visitors could not build on that fightback, though, and Toulouse claimed the win thanks to efforts from Daniel Braathen and Eden Ben Basat.
Brest dropped to the bottom of Ligue 1 following a 2-1 loss at Montpellier.
Troyes' 1-0 victory at home to Evian saw Brest slip six points adrift of 17th-placed Nancy, who face Lyon on Sunday, with just three games of the season remaining.
Marco Estrada opened the scoring for the home side but Florian Raspentino quickly equalised before Souleymane Camara's second-half penalty handed Montpellier victory.
Sloan Privat's first-half goal against Lorient allowed Sochaux to register what could prove to be a vital 1-0 win in their battle to avoid relegation.

They did so by leapfrogging Nancy and Evian, who lost 1-0 at Troyes.
Jean-Christophe Bahebeck's goal, four minutes after coming on, earned the victory. The 20-year-old, on loan from PSG, struck 12 minutes from time, after Brice Dja Djedje had hit a post for Evian, to move Troyes off the foot of the table.
The hosts are now three points behind their third-bottom opponents and four from safety ahead of Nancy's meeting with Lyon.
