Lennon charged with breaching ban

The Scottish Football Association has confirmed that Celtic manager Neil Lennon has been charged with breaching his touchline ban.

Lennon was handed the three-match ban after being found guilty of verbally abusing St Mirren captain Jim Goodwin during the 1-1 draw on March 31.

Lennon, who had expressed frustration at the initial ban, has now been accused of appearing in the "playing zone" within 15 minutes of the final whistle of the 3-1 defeat by Motherwell on Sunday.

The Bhoys manager had been unhappy at Well's second and third goals and it is reported that was a confrontation in the tunnel. Lennon confirmed after the match that referee Euan Norris had called him into his room afterwards, adding on Sky Sports: "It was about a number of things but we'll leave that confidential for now."

The hearing will take place on May 23, three days before the Scottish Cup final against Hibernian, which could see the manager unable to direct his team at Hampden.
