The agent of Dynamo Kiev striker Brown Ideye has confirmed that his client is keen on a summer move to England, with Newcastle his preferred destination.
Ideye, 24, joined Dynamo from Sochaux two years ago for a fee of £7 million, helping them win the Ukrainian Super Cup in his first season.
With two years remaining on his contract, it is believed the club would be willing to sell the Nigeria international for the right price.
Newcastle, Stoke City, Swansea, and West Ham are all believed to be in the race to capture the player's signature, according to reports in the Journal. However, Ideye's agent, Hootan Ahmadi, revealed that given the choice on offer, his client would prefer a move to St James' Park.
"There has been a lot of interest from English clubs, but Newcastle would be Brown's preferred choice for a number of reasons," Ahmadi said. "They have a good fan base and play an attacking style of football; he has good knowledge of the club and of the Premier League. Brown would love to test himself at that level. He would like to move to England and we will look at all our options in the summer."
Meanwhile, reports in Italy claim that the Magpies are looking into the possibility of signing Lyon forward Anthony Martial. According to Tuttosport, the 17-year-old is also attracting interest from Juventus and Manchester City.
A current France Under-18 international, Martial made his professional debut for Lyon during a Champions League tie in December, before making his Ligue 1 bow in February against Ajaccio.
