Galtier to consider future in summer

Saint-Etienne coach Christophe Galtier has admitted that he will get together with the club's board at the end of the current campaign to discuss his long-term future with Les Verts.

Galtier has revived the fortunes of Saint-Etienne since being promoted from his role as assistant to Alain Perrin in December 2009 and last month led the club to victory in the Coupe de la Ligue final against Rennes, ending a 32-year trophy drought.

However, the 46-year-old has just a year remaining on his contract at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, leaving him potentially open to offers from elsewhere.

"My future comes after the four remaining games of this season and the interests of the club as a whole," Galtier said at a press briefing on Wednesday. "There will be a meeting at the end of the season regarding my future."

Saint-Etienne are preparing to entertain Bordeaux on Friday, where a win will see them climb provisionally into third place in the table before Lyon go to Nancy on Sunday. They are still unbeaten in Ligue 1 in 2013 after 15 games and Galtier says Champions League qualification is the aim.

"It is an ambitious target but a realistic one given that we are currently fourth in the table," he insisted. "There are four teams battling for third place: Lyon, Lille, Nice and ourselves. We need to keep playing the way we have been, with the same enthusiasm. We mustn't have any regrets."
