Boateng, Altidore on anti-racism panel

Kevin-Prince Boateng and Jozy Altidore have been named as part of FIFA's new anti-racism Task Force.

Both players have been victims of racism during their careers, with AC Milan's Boateng abused by supporters during a friendly against Pro Patria in January.

AZ Alkmaar striker Altidore, meanwhile, was subjected to racist abuse during his side's meeting with Den Bosch in the same month.

The duo will be part of FIFA's 12-man panel, which will be chaired by Jeffrey Webb, the president of CONCACAF, and include Piara Powar, the head of European anti-racism body FARE.

The Task Force will meet for the first time on May 6 and present its initial findings at the FIFA Congress in Mauritius at the end of the month.

In April, UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino said of his body's plans to tackle racism in football by introducing ten-game bans for players or officials found guilty of racial abuse.

Information from the Associated Press was used in this report.
