AC Milan have been fined €8,000 as a result of their fans' abusive chanting regarding Inter Milan's Javier Zanetti.
Inter's Zanetti was stretchered off in the 17th minute of his side's 1-0 loss at Palermo after rupturing his Achilles tendon.
Later on Sunday, Milan fans were heard chanting 'Javier Zanetti jump with us' during their 4-2 victory over Catania.
Zanetti, 39, is set for surgery on the injury, which is expected to keep him out for around six months after initial fears that his career could be over.
A statement read: "Milan are fined €8,000 as their supporters launched abusive chants directed at a player of another club and insulted police forces during the match."
Speaking on Tuesday, Inter president Massimo Moratti said of Zanetti's setback: "It's very sad and I feel really bad for him.
"I spoke to him straight after the injury happened. But with his character he'll be back, there is no doubt about it.
"The fans can't think they won't see him again. They will and he will be back playing his best."
