Szczesny confident of top-four finish

Wojciech Szczesny believes Arsenal are in line to finish in the Premier League's top four if they can claim victory in their final three games of the season.

Following Sunday's 1-1 draw against Manchester United, the Gunners' Champions League hopes will be decided by next weekend's trip to relegated Queens Park Rangers and games at home to Wigan and away at Newcastle.

And Szczesny, who has recently been recalled to the Arsenal team due to an injury to Lukasz Fabianski, has suggested they have momentum on their side to edge out north London rivals Tottenham in the race to finish in the top four.

"I'm confident that we will be [in the top four]," Szczesny told Arsenal's official website. "We've got three games. I believe if we get nine points, we should be in a good position to finish in the top four, hopefully in third position.

"At this point of the season, it doesn't really matter who we play because I don't think the game against Wigan will be any easier than the game against Manchester United. Wigan are fighting relegation, QPR will play for their pride and Newcastle on the last day of the season is not exactly an easy game as well.

"I don't think it matters who we play but we've sent a message by not losing [to Manchester United] which makes our unbeaten run a little bit longer. We've sent a message to the teams around us that we are up for a fight."

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey was equally bullish about his side's hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League, praising his team-mates for being able to handle the pressure of pushing for a top-four finish.

"I think we've dealt with it well," Ramsey said. "We're on a good run at the moment. Chelsea and Tottenham have to play each other so somebody has to drop points there, but we are concentrating on our own game at the moment.

"We believe we can win the remaining three fixtures that we have left and get nine points out of them. I'm sure if we do that, we'll be in the Champions League next year.

"We've carried on our unbeaten run now so hopefully we can continue that, get back to winning ways on the weekend and get in the Champions League at the end of the season."
