Wenger admits Kondogbia interest

Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia is on Arsenal’s summer shopping list, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.

Kondogbia, 20, has caught the attention of a number of clubs with some commanding performances after moving to La Liga from Lens last summer. The Sun report that the Arsenal boss is keen to add a defensive midfielder to his ranks.

The Gunners have struggled in that position with Abou Diaby again a long-term casualty to injury, while Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido has previously admitted the club may be forced to sell the player.

When asked about his interest in the France Under-20 international, Wenger said: “I don’t really want to talk about Kondogbia too much because everyone’s after him at the moment.

“When you ask ‘Are you also interested?’ what do you expect me to say?”
