Hamburg goalkeeper Rene Adler has played down English media reports linking him with Arsenal.
Adler, 28, only signed for Hamburg from Leverkusen on a free transfer last summer and has recently brought a mansion in a Hamburg suburb. The Germany back-up international said that while he felt “honoured” by the speculation he would not let it distract him.
“Sometimes you should just be satisfied with what you have right now,” he said during an event in Hamburg on Thursday. “I don’t feel like moving yet again.”
Hamburg general manager Frank Arnesen also felt compelled to refute the move, telling Bild: “It is known that Arsenal is looking for a keeper. But until now nobody has contacted us.”
Adler has featured in all but one Bundesliga match this season and has played a key role in Hamburg’s campaign that could still end in Champions League qualification.
