Dante: Bayern must keep attacking

Dante has told his Bayern Munich team-mates that "we scored four but can also concede four" and urged them to be positive in their approach to next week's Champions League semi-final second leg at Barcelona.

• Schaaf: Gut. Besser. Bayern.
• Tomas: Bayern outplay Barca
• Hunter: Bayern grab baton
• Robben revels in result
• Pique: No excuses

The Brazil international defender, 29, helped keep the Catalans at bay as Bayern thumped them 4-0 in Munich on Tuesday to put themselves on the verge of the final.

No team has failed to progress after winning the first leg by such a scoreline, but the centre-back told RMC Radio that the German champions must be forward-thinking at the Camp Nou.

"I think we'll continue to try and play," he said. "If we go there thinking only about defending, that's not a good start.

"We're going to try and score because, if we do that, they have to score six. We have to stay solid, compact, and work for each other.

"We have to keep our feet on the ground - things can change quickly in football. We scored four, but we can also concede four. We need to keep our focus."

Barça had not suffered such a defeat in the Champions League since an Andrei Shevchenko-inspired Dynamo Kiev routed them in Spain in November 1997.

But the scoreline at the Allianz Arena would not have been quite so convincing had referee Viktor Kassai ruled out Bayern's second and third goals for infringements that were not seen by the Hungarian and his assistants.

"They weren't big errors. I think we could have had a penalty. In every game, there are mistakes by the referee. If they go for us, all the better," Dante said.

"If you'd have told me 3-0 before the game, I would have signed for that straight away, so 4-0 is magnificent.

"The most important thing was not to concede. We have to keep on respecting them, keep thinking that they're the best team in the world and go there to try and qualify."
