Moratti: Stramaccioni going nowhere

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has confirmed that Andrea Stramaccioni's job is safe for next season.

• Revolution on Inter's horizon

Stramaccioni has had a tough time of late with his Inter side slipping to fifth in Serie A and crashing out of the Europa League and Coppa Italia in recent months.

However, despite the frustrating campaign and calls for the coach's head, Moratti insists that the 37-year-old is going nowhere.

"The project will start again with Stramaccioni," he told Sky Sport Italia. "You always ask me whether he'll stay and I always tell you yes.

"It is not easy to plan for the future if your computer has a virus, when you have had as many players injured as we have, but we are thinking about next season and doing that well."

Moratti, though, was reminded of when previous coaches Alberto Zaccheroni and Roberto Mancini both left the San Siro after also winning his public backing.

"Zaccheroni and Mancini were different situations," he said. "Roberto decided to leave and then what happened then happened.

"We needed to look for a new coach even if Mancini had done really well and we therefore went to Jose Mourinho. But it was Mancini who broke away."

Inter picked up their first win in four games after a 1-0 victory against Parma on Sunday. While Stramaccioni avoided criticism, technical director Marco Branca was on the receiving end of the San Siro's frustrations.

"People look for someone to blame and, right now, they are looking at him," Moratti said.

"Opinions need to be respected, but sometimes you don't fully understand the situation from the outside and that's why certain judgements are made."
