Sergio Aguero could miss Manchester City's trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday with a minor hamstring strain.
Aguero was substituted at half-time in Wednesday's 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic and is a doubt for the visit to White Hart Lane.
However, City are confident that Aguero, who has already had three spells on the sidelines this season with various injuries, will not be out for long.
"He has got a problem, but it was a slight problem," first-team coach David Platt said. "It was more of a precaution than anything else. He felt his hamstring tighten up. Just the sheer proximity of the game on Sunday would say he is a doubt."
Aguero has scored 15 goals this season, including winners in two of City's last three games, against Manchester United and Chelsea.
David Silva is expected to be fit after he was omitted for the Wigan game to give him more time to overcome his own hamstring problem, while Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy and Matija Nastastic, who were all unused on Wednesday, are fit.
