Espanyol peg back Valencia in thriller

A last-gasp goal by Sergio Garcia rescued a point for Espanyol in a thrilling 3-3 draw at home to Valencia.

Mubarak Wakaso opened the scoring for the hosts on the stroke of half-time, but Sergio Canales levelled shortly after the re-start.

Joan Verdu then put Espanyol ahead again late on but his effort was cancelled out by Jonas, before Roberto Soldado gave Valencia the lead for the first time in the game, during injury time.

However, there was still time for more drama, and Garcia scored in the 94th minute to snatch the draw.

The result means Espanyol overtake Levante in 11th place in the table, while Valencia missed a chance to provisionally reclaim fourth spot from Real Sociedad, who play Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

Malaga left it late to join Valenica on 50 points, needing a 93rd minute goal to win 1-0 at home to Osasuna.

The game looked to be headed for a goalless draw, which would have given Osasuna a welcome point to keep some breathing space from the relegation dogfight. But Julio Baptista had better ideas as he grabbed a winner in the 93rd minute.

Valladolid staged a second-half turnaround to overcome ten-man Getafe and win 2-1, recording their first home victory since January.

Paco Alcacer gave Luis Garcia's side an undeserved lead moments before half-time but goals by Oscar Ramos and Javi Guerra in quick succession turned the match around, before Alexis Ruano was sent off for Getafe.

Deportivo La Coruna took another big step towards survival after making it four wins on the trot with an impressive 4-0 victory at Levante.

The game was as good as over inside the opening half-hour as Depor struck three times through Juan Carlos Valeron, Luis Pizzi and Nelson Oliveira.

Levante pushed but could find no way back after that and Bruno Gama put the icing on Depor's cake with a fourth goal late on as the in-form Galicians claimed their biggest win since 2011.

It is a victory that provisionally lifts them out of the relegation zone for the first time since November.
