Why Palermo vs. Juve is a derby

Klopp must sort out Anfield woes

Bertrand out of Rubin Kazan clash

Ryan Bertrand has not travelled with Chelsea to Moscow ahead of their Europa League quarter-final second leg on Thursday due to illness.

• Blog: Nerve-wracking climax awaits

Bertrand was expected to start, having filled in for Ashley Cole since he picked up a hamstring injury in the 1-0 FA Cup quarter-final replay victory over Manchester United on April 1.

The Blues, however, confirmed on their official Twitter account that the 23-year-old will not play any part in the Europa League clash.

The tweet read: "Not travelling is Ryan Bertrand, who is ill, and injured Gary Cahill and Oriol Romeu."

Bertrand's absence means either youngster Nathan Ake or Paulo Ferreira are likely to start at left-back at the Luzhniki Stadium.

Chelsea go into the second leg holding a 3-1 aggregate lead thanks to goals from Fernando Torres, who hit a brace, and Victor Moses.
