Dortmund's Klopp hails greatest night

Disbelieving Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp hailed the best night of his career after watching his side strike twice in injury-time to sink Malaga 3-2 and move into the Champions League semi-finals.

• Cartlidge: Malaga hold heads high
• Tyler: Dortmund sting Malaga
• Uersfeld: The beauty of football

The Bundesliga outfit had seemed set for defeat when the clock ticked into four extra minutes with the visitors 2-1 up, and with two away goals, thanks to what appeared to be an offside strike from substitute Eliseu.

But a finish from Marco Reus and a contentious goal from Felipe Santana - which also appeared offside - turned the tie on its head.

Klopp told Sky Sports he had never seen a game like it before, adding: "This is football - one very disappointed team in this moment, and one lucky team. It was unbelievable.

"We played, I think, our worst game in the Champions League. In the first half we showed a bit of nerves, not our best football. It was easy to defend for Malaga, but they did it well.

"Second half, we tried a bit better and they were too clever this evening. It was not easy. But we got the goal and we made it. It is unbelievable what happens in this stadium. It was crazy."

Klopp said he felt the contentious winner cancelled out Malaga's equally dubious goal, but stressed that he believed his team's win had been deserved over the course of the two legs.

And he added: "I think I have to go to the doctor. In the dressing room, my assistants and me were looking at each other in shock. It's one of the best things I have ever felt."

The coach said he did not believe his side could win the Champions League "if we play like tonight", but said the "passion" they had shown to salvage the match meant they would be "really hard to play, difficult to play".
