Witsel: More to come from Hazard

Axel Witsel has praised his Belgium team-mate Eden Hazard and said he expects the Chelsea star to continue his dazzling club form at international level.

Hazard, 22, had his name sung by a capacity crowd in Brussels after scoring the only goal of the game to beat Macedonia and keep Belgium in the running for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Since making his international debut as a 17-year-old, former Lille player Hazard has not always been so popular. In 2011, he was heavily criticised after snubbing former coach Georges Leekens after being substituted and was dropped for his country's next game.

Recent match-winning performances, with three goals in his last three games for the Red Devils under coach Marc Wilmots, have seen his star rise again - and Zenit St Petersburg defender Witsel, 24, told RTBF television he believes even more is to come.

"He's improving nicely. The more he plays with us, the better the chances he'll reach the standard he's showing at Chelsea," he said.

"He's going to continue improving. Everyone knows he has the ability to become a great player. People forget he's still young and started playing for his country at a very young age."
