Laudrup: I don't dream of Real job

Michael Laudrup has quelled speculation that he could join Real Madrid next season, insisting he has no dreams of managing a "big team".

Michael Laudrup: Linked with Swansea exit
Laudrup is contracted at Swansea until June 2015

Laudrup signed a one-year extension to his current Swansea deal last month, keeping him at the Liberty Stadium until June 2015, but the Dane is still being touted as Jose Mourinho's possible replacement at the Bernabeu next season.

The Swans boss has been heavily linked with the Real Madrid job as Mourinho eyes an exit from Spain, but he denies he can only prove himself as a manager at a top European club.

"People ask me - 'do you have a dream of training a big team?' and I always say no," Laudrup told AS. "It is not a dream for me. I start the year with the dream of coaching Madrid or Barcelona, or Manchester United. Then let's say after eight or nine years I got to achieve that dream.

"I get there, and then at the end of the season I lose the Champions League final, finish second in the league by three points and lost on penalties in the cup final. The club will turn round and say, 'hey Michael, there is no title. We're going to have to change'."

Laudrup says he has no plans to turn his back on Swansea and denies he has been made an offer by Real, although he failed to rule out a move to Spain in the summer.

"Listen, that is obviously not  the same as saying that I do not want to go to those teams," he said. "Of course I do. And if it comes, it comes. But if it doesn't, it doesn't.

"I don't think Madrid have made any decisions [about next season's manager]. Nobody has talked to me. My relationship with the President [at Swansea] is phenomenal. I want to be here next year."
