Pazzini fit to face Fiorentina

AC Milan have been given a fitness boost as striker Giampaolo Pazzini has recovered from injury to face Fiorentina this weekend.

Pazzini, 28, picked up an ankle problem during the 2-0 win at Genoa on March 8 and has not featured for the club since.

Afterwards, Genoa defender Daniele Portanova (the player whose tackle caused the injury) hit out at the Italy international and refused to apologise for the incident.

"It's a shame he got injured after a perfectly normal challenge, but that is a closed book for me now," Portanova told Sky Sport Italia. "This whole story is only a pity for those players who, at the end of the day, are not famous."

However, Pazzini roared back to form with four goals in a 14-0 training match win on Thursday against Vergiatese. Strike partner Stephan El Shaarawy also hit four, with Mario Balotelli coming off the bench to score one.

Pazzini has netted 13 goals in 22 games in Serie A this season and has helped Milan up to third place, 11 points behind leaders Juventus.
