Mineiro maintains perfect campaign

Brazilian outfit Atletico Mineiro maintained its perfect start to the Copa Libertadores after thumping Arsenal 5-2 at the Estadio Raimundo Sampaio.

Two goals from former world player of the year Ronaldinho and strikes from Diego Tardelli, Luan and Alecsandro made if five wins from five games for Mineiro.

Diego Braghieri and Dario Benedetto hit back for Arsenal.

The victory extended Mineiro's advantage at the top of group three, the Brazilians now 11 points clear of second placed Sao Paulo.

A hat-trick from Bryan Rodriguez guided Huachipato to a 4-0 win away to Caracas in group eight.

The Uruguayan marksman struck twice in the first-half before completing a resounding performance with a third midway through the second half.

Federico Falcone rounded off the scoring with the victory moving Huachipato level on points with Fluminense.

Meanwhile, six-time Copa Libertadores champions Boca Juniors scored the only goal of the game to edge Barcelona 1-0 in group one.

Nicolas Blandi's ninth-minute effort secured the points which opened a two-point gap above Nacional, who have a game in hand.

Boca coach Carlos Bianchi said: "We played a very good first half. We played good football and were close to scoring again. After the break we left too many spaces and they got control of the ball but they didn't pose a threat in our box, while we did it in every counter-attack."

The result means that if Uruguay's Nacional beat Mexico's Toluca, both Nacional and Boca will secure their passport to the round of 16.

Finally, group five leaders Corinthians remain top after securing a narrow 1-0 victory at Millonarios, while San Jose salvaged a 1-1 draw against Tijuana.
