Hegarty offered two-match ban

Rangers defender Chris Hegarty has been offered a two-match ban for allegedly stamping on an opponent during his team's goalless draw at Montrose.

Hegarty has until Thursday to respond to the Scottish Football Association notice of complaint. A hearing will be held the following Thursday if Rangers opt to challenge the punishment.

The incident is believed to have occurred just after the half-hour mark in Saturday's Links Park draw, which ultimately proved enough for Rangers to clinch the Scottish Third Division title.

Hegarty, 20, has made 27 first-team appearances for Rangers this season.
