Kroos expected out for 'a long time'
Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes fears he may have lost Toni Kroos for "a long time" to injury after the young forward was forced off during the club's 2-0 victory over Juventus in the Champions League.
Kroos was forced to sidelines in the 16th minute with his side 1-0 up against the Italians and would not play any further part as the Bavarians took a giant step to qualifying for the semi-finals.
"An initial diagnosis by FCB chief medical officer Dr Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt suggests the Germany international has ruptured a group of adductor muscles in his right hip and now faces several weeks on the sidelines," a statement on Bayern's official said.
Heynckes admits he is worried that he has lost one of his most influential players at a critical point of the season.
"This is obviously very bitter, " Heynckes said. "It's just such a shame for a young player who has played great this season."
