Injuries force another new U.S. lineup

MEXICO CITY -- Injuries forced yet another retooling of the United States' lineup ahead of its World Cup qualifier in Mexico on Tuesday night, with Maurice Edu getting the start in central midfield in place of Jermaine Jones.

Edu will pair with Michael Bradley in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Graham Zusi, Clint Dempsey and Herculez Gomez in front of them and Jozy Altidore up front. But Jurgen Klinsmann made another switch to his back line, opting to start Matt Besler ahead of Clarence Goodson at center back in only Besler's second appearance for the Americans. Klinsmann left Geoff Cameron at right back and DaMarcus Beasley at left back, a combination that worked well in Friday night's 1-0 victory over Costa Rica. Omar Gonzalez is the other center back.

The Americans are looking for their first World Cup qualifying win at Azteca Stadium, where Mexico has not lost a qualifier since 2001.
