David Luiz: I love to play games
Chelsea defender David Luiz has dismissed ideas that a fixture pile-up could derail the club's season as they push for the top four and two cup competitions.
The Stamford Bridge side are to play six games in 16 days from Monday's FA Cup replay against Manchester United, including a Europa League trip to Rubin Kazan.
Despite the fact that interim manager Rafael Benitez has blamed the schedule for some below-par performances, Luiz has insisted it's better for the squad to just play.
"I love to play games, I prefer to play games than training for sure," he said. "I want to play both games against Southampton and Manchester United and I want to win both matches.
"All the games are important to us - you know that at Chelsea. Southampton away is a difficult game, we need to win and after that we have a big derby in the FA Cup. Last year we won the competition, so it is also important."
